一、基本情况

根据美国宪法的规定，各州政府负责各大学的登记和批准，但各大学是否被社会认可取决于政府承认的认证机构的认证。

美国的大学有公立和私立两种。 第一实施两年学制或四年学制，两年制大多是技术专科学校和社区学院。 据统计，目前美国各类大学有3600多所。
